Principal Portfolio Manager: Andrew Dalton (Managing Partner)
Andrew established Dalton Strategic Partnership in 2002, and currently manages the Global Flexible Asset Allocation Programme, and the Balanced Investment Programme, each of which invests in the Melchior range of funds and other investment instruments - in addition he manages the Melchior Selected Trust: Sterling Global Opportunities Fund.
Andrew has 35 years of experience in managing global asset allocation portfolios - prior to establishing DSP, Andrew was with S G Warburg & Co Ltd, Mercury Asset Management Group Plc and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers for 30 years where he specialised in asset allocation and headed MLIM's Total Return Team. Between 1982 and 1989 managed the Mercury Selected Trust, Global Fund, which was the best performing global equity fund in the world over that period.
He was an executive director of Mercury Asset Management Group plc from its establishment in 1987 until its sale in 1997 and Vice Chairman of its principal operating subsidiary, Mercury Asset Management plc. He was Chairman of Mercury Selected Trust and of Mercury Offshore Sterling Trust, its two flagship offshore groupings. He was also the first President and subsequently Chairman of Mercury Asset Management Japan Ltd.
He was Chairman of Mercury/Merrill Lynch's other Far Eastern subsidiaries in Hong Kong and Singapore and a Director of the Mercury KAG. He was responsible for Mercury's international business in the 1990s and at various times has been a specialist North American fund manager and head of the Far Eastern investment team. He has a degree in Modern History from Magdalen College, Oxford.
