Philip is responsible for advising DSP’s portfolio managers on all aspects of portfolio risk management. He has worked in major financial institutions for the last 19 years in various roles in risk management, quantitative research and trading IT. He has successfully led major projects in the areas of Risk Management, Commodity Trading and Foreign Exchange derivatives for a number of major institutions including Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust Company.

 

He has PhD in applied mathematics from Imperial College, an MBA from City University and a BSc in electronics from Essex University. His articles on Risk Management have appeared in Risk, Derivatives Weekly, Journal of Derivatives and International Journal of Applied Mathematics. He invented, with Dr. Paul Wilmott, the CrashMetrics risk management methodology that provides protection against extreme adverse market movements and monitors the real time risk to equity portfolios.
